Domestic Abuse Training
The domestic abuse training and events calendar has now been updated online with all planned events for 2011/12.
There are a variety of courses available (many free of charge) - both classroom based and e-learning. Some of the courses available include:

The pan Hampshire & Isle of Wight Honour Based Violence (HBV) Strategic Action Group (SAG) will be running a summer awareness campaign this year around the issues of Honour Based Violence, including forced marriage and female genital mutilation. The awareness campaign will run during the months of May, June and July.
As part of the campaign, the SAG has organised a series of free HBV awareness training sessions around the county and the IOW. Please find attached a flier for this training.
Who should attend?
- All staff and volunteers working with children and young people, particularly within educational settings.
- Health, including GPs, A&E staff, safeguarding nurses, midwives, health visitors, NHS Direct
- Specialist domestic abuse services
- Children’s Services staff
- Interpreters and translators
- All other frontline services that may come in contact with victims of honour based violence, perpetrators and their families.
